This module provides a solution for converting  RS232  signaling to  RS485  signaling. This allows long-distance communication since the range supported by RS232 is normally less than  50 feet  while RS485’s range can exceed  1000 feet. The design features an RS232 transceiver, an RS485 transceiver, a multivibrator, and a digital isolator with integrated power to implement bidirectional half-duplex communication without any software interference. The board has been tested for up to  800 feet  in length with a two-wire twisted pair cable. Up to  115200 baud  rate communication between two PCs via serial port has been successful. The design features the industrial standard IEC 61000-4-2 and 61000-4-4 protection with 5000 Vrms isolation protection.

This simple, compact solution is ideal for isolated SPI data requiring communication across different ground potentials often found in Industrial PLCs (programmable logic controllers) and Instrumentation and data acquisition systems. Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI) is a protocol that is commonly used for communication between microcontrollers and peripheral ICs such as sensors, ADCs, DACs, and others.  The project is based on an  ISOW7741 quad-channel digital isolator with an integrated DC-DC converter. For many industrial control applications, the communications pathway between the microcontroller and the I/O module devices must be isolated. Isolation helps to minimize noise and ground loop issues and also protects expensive control units (MCUs or FPGAs) and equipment operators. This module is the solution to all these problems and the inbuilt DC-DC converter is a great advantage that powers the output side of the circuitry and thus the project can work with a single supply. The DC-DC converter output can be used to power the peripherals device maximum load up to  100mA with  5VDC input.

This  is a high-frequency differential line receiver amplifier that has excellent common-mode rejection at its inputs. The project is an ideal solution for a receiver of a digital signal or video signals that are transmitted over long distances on twisted-pair cables like  CAT5. Category 5 cables are very common in office settings and are extensively used for data transmission. These cables can also be used for the digital signal or analog transmission of signals such as video. These long cables pick up noise from the environment they pass through. This noise does not favor one conductor over another and therefore is a  common-mode signal. A receiver that rejects the common-mode signal on the cable can greatly enhance the  signal-to-noise  ratio performance of the link. This project is tested with  100Hz to 1Mhz square wave signal, however, it can support higher frequency.

This is a  low-cost solution to transmit a video or digital signal up to 300 Meters over a twisted pair cable. The project has been designed using the  AD8131  chip which is a differential driver for the transmission of high-speed signals over low-cost twisted pair or coaxes cables. The project can be used for either analog or digital video signals or for other high-speed data transmissions. It is capable of driving either  Cat3  or  Cat5  twisted pair or coax with minimal line attenuation. The AD8131 has on-chip resistors that provide for a gain of 2 without any external parts. Several on-chip resistors are trimmed to ensure that the gain is accurate, the common-mode rejection is good, and the output is well balanced. This makes the AD8131 very suitable as a single-ended-to-differential twisted-pair line driver.  The board works with  +/-5V DC  (Dual 5V) supply, RCA connector J1 to feed single-ended Video or digital signal, connector CN2 is used to connect the twisted pair cable (CAT5), D1 Power LED, Resistor R7 and R8 terminate the line at transmitting side.
